Trial data & results

Tar Spot symptoms look like "tar spots" on the leaf. They do not rub off. They can be observed with or without "fish-eye" symptoms (photo left). Conditions favorable for development: Wet conditions with high relative humidity and prolonged leaf wetness. Moves with wind and rain and can travel significant distances. Overwinters on corn crop residue. Long latent period: ~14 – 21 days. Under heavy infestations yield losses of 20 – 80 bu/A have been reported, including low test weights late season lodging issues. Severity and timing are weather-dependent.
