Orondis® Opti fungicide now registered in premix formulation

  • Offers superior control of Oomycete diseases in specialty and vegetable crops
  • Two modes of action for resistance mitigation
  • Protects crop when it is most actively growing
GREENSBORO, N.C., USA – Syngenta announced that Orondis® Opti fungicide premix is now registered and approved for use on specialty and vegetable crops by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Currently sold as a multi-pack, Orondis Opti will be introduced and commercially available as a premix formulation for the 2017 growing season upon receipt of individual state registrations.

Orondis Opti combines the active ingredients found in Orondis and Bravo® fungicides into a product that protects crops when they are most actively growing to maximize marketable yields.

“We’ve observed excellent performance in fields that were treated with the Orondis Opti multi-pack this year, and we expect the same consistent, high-level control from the Orondis Opti premix,” said Paul Kuhn, technical product lead, Syngenta.

Oxathiapiprolin is the only active ingredient in FRAC Group U15 and is not cross-resistant to any other fungicide. When combined with the trusted and proven effectiveness of the chlorothalonil component in Orondis Opti, Orondis protects crops against late blight, downy mildew and Phytophthora blights. The combination also provides built-in resistance management when included in a season-long Oomycete disease control program.

“In addition to the excellent control that growers experienced for themselves this year, the Orondis Opti premix formulation will offer enhanced application flexibility and convenience,” said Bernd Druebbisch, fungicide product lead, Syngenta.
