Protect cucurbit crops from Papaya ringspot virus with resistant hybrids

At Syngenta Vegetable Seeds, we invest heavily in research and development to meet grower needs and help overcome challenges. Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV) threatens papaya and cucurbits in all regions of the world where these crops are cultivated.

To help growers address this challenge, several recently introduced Syngenta squash and zucchini varieties exhibit intermediate resistance to PRSV:

  • Grandprize
  • Everglade
  • Spineless Supreme
  • San Martin
  • Ebano
  • Payload

This resistance will restrict the growth and development of PRSV in crops, resulting in healthier plants and higher yield and profit potentials.

Attribute®, Attribute Plus and Attribute II trait stacks from Syngenta are a viable crop strategy for sweet corn growers throughout the country. Commercially grown since 1998, Attribute trait stacks provide a high level of above-ground insect protection throughout the growing season. Attribute Plus and Attribute II combine Vip3A – a unique mode of action proprietary to Syngenta – with Cry1Ab for excellent control of yield-robbing pests including European corn borer, corn earworm, fall armyworm and Western bean cutworm.

When managed in accordance with the recommendations outlined in the Attribute Sweet Corn Stewardship Agreement, Attribute sweet corn can be a valuable addition to your crop management strategy for many years to come.
