“FarmHer on RFD-TV” and Syngenta announce opening of #RootedinAg Spotlight submission period

GREENSBORO, N.C., USA, May 22, 2019 – “FarmHer on RFD-TV” and presenting sponsor Syngenta are working together to highlight the stories of women in the agriculture industry. As the show gears up for its fourth season, Syngenta is accepting submissions for the show’s #RootedinAg Spotlight segment. The top 25 participants will have the chance to appear on the show. To participate, FarmHers must submit a 30-to-60 second “selfie” video explaining how their agricultural roots influence them. The submission period is open through May 31, 2019, at submit.farmher.com.

“I’m excited to hear more stories from the women who represent the past, present and future of agriculture,” said Wendell Calhoun, communications manager at Syngenta. “At Syngenta, we’re proud to continue our support of the FarmHer movement, which demonstrates the immense value of diversity in our company and in the industry as a whole. That diversity helps us accelerate innovation to address the increasing challenges faced by farmers in a changing world.”

This season, Marji Guyler-Alaniz, the show’s host and the founder of the FarmHer movement, will take viewers to locations across the U.S. in pursuit of engaging agriculture stories. She’s excited about the opportunity to showcase some of the ag industry’s most inspiring women.

“I’m thrilled to bring back the #RootedinAg Spotlight stories for season four of FarmHer,” said Guyler-Alaniz. “The videos have added such a special touch to the show, bringing us the ability to share even more stories of FarmHers in each episode. They’re shining examples of the pride and commitment women bring to agriculture. It’s a great opportunity for any woman to share her story and message through the FarmHer platform.”
