Posterity fungicide from Syngenta now registered for golf courses in California

Spring dead spot, fairy ring and dollar spot solution provides superintendents with up to 28 days of control

GREENSBORO, N.C., USA, May 27, 2020Posterity® fungicide from Syngenta is now registered in California to control key diseases on golf course turf. Posterity holds stronger than the industry standard to provide up to 28 days of control and is the most active SDHI against dollar spot in the turf market.

“Posterity has been used extensively by superintendents in other parts of the country since originally launching in 2018,” said Dean Mosdell, Ph.D., technical services manager for turf at Syngenta. “We have continued to see Posterity provide excellent disease control and it has become a key part of agronomic programs to control spring dead spot, so we are excited to have it available in California.”

Preventive applications of Posterity are recommended beginning in the spring, prior to the expression of fairy rings, as soil temperature exceed 60°F. Posterity also features curative properties and can be used for extended preventive applications for continued protection. Fall applications for spring dead spot should begin as soil temperatures hit 70°F followed by a repeat application 28 days later.

For resistance management and broader-spectrum control, Syngenta also offers agronomic programs that strategically rotate Posterity with other trusted products to properly condition turf so it will perform at its best during the season and recover quickly from stress.

“As superintendents in California prepare for the season ahead, they now have access to an innovative fungicide that can help keep their turf free of dollar spot and spring dead spot,” said Stephanie Schwenke, turf market manager at Syngenta. “With the registration of Posterity, we are excited to provide a solution that offers the exceptional disease control they need.”
