Dan Oleson grows confidence and comfort with his passion for the NK brand.



Dan Oleson, NK seed agronomist, spent a lot of his summer training retailers on the attributes of the NK products so they, in turn, can sell to the grower. Now that the season has progressed, so has Oleson’s work. “As harvest progresses, we’ll do plot tours where we’ll look at yield. We do that so the retailers will continue to be more comfortable with the products they’re going to be recommending,” says Oleson. “We’ll also have meetings where we do training on the digital tools, on the seed placement sheets and other new offerings. Because when I’m a resource for a seller, I’m also a resource for the growers we all serve.”

When working with growers directly, Oleson makes sure to emphasize the competitive edge NK® products can give them. “It’s my job to let them know when you have best-in-class proprietary genetics and industry-leading traits, like NK does. Then you have something that’s differentiated from what other seed companies are selling.” It’s clear Oleson believes in the products he’s selling and wants to share that confidence with the growers in his region.

For Oleson, working with NK seeds is a passion. “I came out of retirement to do this and it’s been great fun. It says a lot to me when I look at the caliber of people that have joined NK. They have a lot of con­fidence in what’s being done and the investments that they’re making and the products that we’re launching. It’s an exciting time to be part of it.”
