Before Michael Schultz became an NK seed agronomist, he built a successful career as a retail sales agronomist. That’s why he can wear many hats of expertise with his clients today. “I would say that my ability to hold the entire retail conversation with growers is my advantage,” says Schultz. “Being able to fully understand the process that they’re going through, whether it’s choosing fertilizer, choosing chemistry and, of course, choosing seed, I understand the full agronomy space like the back of my hand.”

Because of Schultz’s broad and extensive knowledge those he works with consider him an expert. “I really think clients appreciate my ability to speak to other areas of their operation outside of just seed. Others might only be able to speak to the seed aspect, but my experience makes my offering broader. I feel growers are comfortable carrying on a conversation with me on any agronomic practice that they might encounter.”

Overall, Schultz is proud of his career and the fact he can share his vast knowledge with the growers. “It’s great to have the trust of the people who call on you. I really take great satisfaction in that.”
