Bert Wagemans has been named Ornamental Business lead for the Lawn & Garden team in Syngenta Professional Products, NAFTA Region. Wagemans will also be responsible for all business development initiatives, as well as marketing for aquatic vegetation management products.
Most recently, Wagemans worked as global business manager/ornamentals for Syngenta Crop Protection in Basel, Switzerland. He was in charge of sales and growth initiatives for the company’s portfolio of control products and growing media for the global ornamentals industry. Wagemans’ 18-year tenure with Syngenta and its legacy companies also includes various international leadership positions in business development, sales and marketing.
“Bert Wagemans brings proven leadership skills, and extensive knowledge and experience to his new position as leader of the NAFTA ornamentals business,” said Steve Spain, head of Lawn & Garden commercial operations in Syngenta Professional Products, NAFTA Region. “Bert’s leadership will be critical in developing the strategy for Syngenta control products in the greenhouse and nursery markets throughout North America.”
Wagemans holds a master’s degree in agriculture from the University of Paderborn (Soest, Germany) and an undergraduate degree in plant pathology from WUR (Wageningen, The Netherlands). Additionally, he has completed the management program at SMP Business School St. Gallen (Switzerland).
