The Challenge

Assessing and reporting progress in sustainability

To track and communicate their sustainability goals, potato growers must collect farm and field-level data that is both accurate and comprehensive. However, collecting this information from a variety of sources in a way that multiple value chain partners can use presents a challenge.

The Solution

The PSA consists of growers and food industry partners with a common goal of driving sustainable potato production.

In partnership with Syngenta, the PSA is streamlining how farm-level data is collected and made available to end users. With a reach extending across North America, Cropwise Sustainability enables PSA members to compare themselves with other growers in their region and receive the actionable insights they need to make continuous progress on their farms.

Syngenta’s Sustainable Outcomes in Agriculture Standard (SOA) is benchmarked to the Sustainable Ag Initiative Farm Sustainability Assessment v. 3.0 (FSA), providing PSA’s cohort of growers, processors, and industry members with the foundation to assess potato sustainability in a credible and scalable way.
