Agrisure Trait Stewardship FAQ

Syngenta Stewardship Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q:
How do I know if I have the most current agreement?
A:
If the agreement reads “Syngenta Seeds, LLC Stewardship Agreement” at the top AND the last updated date at the bottom of the form reads “October 2019”, it is the most current version. When looking at the actual Syngenta license number, a license number ending in US03 is considered the most current version.
Q:
What is my license number?
A:
License number consists of 8 numeric digits followed by a US01, US02, or US03 version. This number is assigned after the Syngenta Seeds, LLC Stewardship Agreement has been processed by Syngenta. Remember: US03 is the most current version. All other versions are considered "non-compliant".
Q:
What are my responsibilities with this license number? What does this agreement mean?
A:
By signing the Syngenta Seeds LLC, Stewardship Agreement you are given a limited license to buy and plant Agrisure technologies. Your responsibility by signing this agreement is to make sure you know what the Insect Resistance Management (IRM) requirements are for your traited products. This includes but is not limited to planting the refuge with the correct size and distance requirements. All of these requirements are outlined in the Insect Resistance Management Stewardship Guide. If you do not follow these requirements you could lose access to these technologies.
Q:
Do I need to sign a new agreement every year?
A:
No, the Syngenta Seeds LLC Stewardship Agreement only has to be signed once unless a new requirement/trait came out that would require a new agreement. The agreement was last updated in October of 2019. However, all compliant license numbers must end in US03.
Q:
What is the difference between customer number and technology number?
A:
Customer number is the unique identifier that Syngenta uses in their internal system to identify a particular Grower/Dealer. Technology Number (also known as License Number, Agrisure Number, Stewardship Number) is the unique number assigned to a grower after the grower has completed, signed and submitted a Syngenta Seeds LLC, Stewardship Agreement.
Q:
Are originals needed?
A:
Originals are not needed
Q:
How long does it take to be processed?
A:
Processing an agreement generally takes 48 hours, however during the peak summer months it may take up to three weeks.
Q:
How will I find out my license number?
A:
If the agreement is signed using our electronic option through AgCelerate.com the license number will be visible to a grower through their AgCelerate account. A reseller will also be able to view the license number through AgCelerate or the grower lookup tool. If a paper agreement is submitted then a grower will have to contact Syngenta or the reseller to obtain their number, and a reseller will be able to view the license number through AgCelerate or the grower lookup tool.
Q:
What is the difference between US01, US02 and US03?
A:
Prior to 2009, all growers were licensed with US01. In 2009 Syngenta launched a new agreement to incorporate the addition of Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® soybeans and Agrisure Viptera®, this required all growers to be licensed with the US02 version. Then in 2013 Syngenta launched the Agrisure Duracade® trait, which required an update to the Syngenta Seeds, LLC Stewardship Agreement. Since 2013 the agreement has also been updated to include additional soy traits such as Roundup Ready 2 Xtend®, LibertyLink® and Enlist E3. The current version of the agreement is still US03 with a “last modified” date at the bottom of October 2019.
Q:
Who do I contact if I have pest pressure?
A:
If you encounter pest pressure, contact your local agronomist or a Syngenta sales representative.
