Enogen Feed Forward Opportunity

As a leader in creating solutions for climate mitigation, we are constantly working to develop technology that provides environmental benefits while working with partners throughout the value chain to offer incentives for producers.

We understand that environmental impact and commodity pricing are some of the largest stressors for beef and dairy producers. As a part of our commitment to the environment, the Enogen Feed Forward™ opportunity incentivizes producers in the U.S. to feed Enogen® corn in their rations to help reduce certain environmental impacts of beef production.

University research has shown that feeding Enogen as silage or grain can improve feed efficiency by about 5%.1 Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) shows that increasing feed efficiency by about 5% in backgrounding and the feed yard could result in significant environmental savings, including lower emissions of greenhouse gases and lower use of land, energy and water.2

Incentive Opportunity

Through the Feed Forward opportunity, partners can show support for producers while also reducing their carbon footprint through the benefits provided by feeding cattle Enogen corn. Under this opportunity, producers will receive a per-head, per-day incentive for feeding Enogen.

How Do Producers Qualify?

For the Feed Forward opportunity, participants will commit to using Enogen in their feed rations at the rate and timing required to result in climate benefits, according to the LCA. This includes feeding Enogen as 50% or greater of the starch rations for a full turn, from feed yard entrance to exit, for a set number of days per opportunity details. Reporting requirements include an Enogen Stewardship Contract, a closeout report and a completed Enogen Feed Forward producer agreement.

Q:
How are producers selected for the opportunity?
A:
The Enogen Feed Forward™ opportunity will be implemented primarily by Enogen Resellers, selected and trained. Enogen Nutrition Leads will manage participation.
Q:
Are dairy producers eligible for the opportunity?
A:
Dairy cows sold off for beef production that are fed Enogen corn may be eligible for the Enogen Feed Forward™ opportunity.
Q:
What are the qualifications for participation?
A:
Producers must commit to feeding Enogen at 50% or greater of the starch in their rations for the required time period per the opportunity details, follow the feeding guidelines of the opportunity and must provide an Enogen Feed Grower Agreement, ration paperwork, closeout report, seed invoice and sign an Enogen Climate Program Agreement.

What is the timeline for implementation?
A:
Promotion of the opportunity will begin in October, with enrollment beginning with seed purchases in 2026. The opportunity will impact Enogen harvested in 2026 and fed in 2027, with payouts happening in 2028.

How many days is the producer required to feed Enogen in their ration?
A:
Producers must feed Enogen in the ration a full turn from feed yard entrance to exit based on a set amount of days per opportunity details.
Q:
How were rate and timing requirements established for the opportunity?
A:
Rate and timing requirements were established based on the findings of the LCA which resulted in certain climate and efficiency benefits.
Q:
What records will need to be kept and what is a desk audit for verification?
A:
Reporting requirements for producers include An Enogen Feed Grower Agreement, ration paperwork, closeout report, seed invoice and sign an Enogen Climate Program Agreement.  Select producers will be subject to a desk audit for a verification provider to ensure all requirements have been met. All data provided is aggregated and anonymized.
