Syngenta receives California registration for Orondis® Ultra fungicide on vegetables and other crops

  • Now available for use in California
  • Outstanding preventive and residual oomycete disease control
  • Foundation fungicide in programs with other modes of action

GREENSBORO, N.C, USA - December 5, 2017, – Syngenta has announced that the California Department of Pesticide Regulation has approved Orondis® Ultra fungicide for use in vegetables and other selected crops.

“Orondis Ultra provides a novel mode of action that is new to the industry, giving California growers a foundational fungicide with outstanding control of oomycete diseases,” said Bernd Druebbisch, fungicide product lead, Syngenta.

Available in a premix formulation, Orondis Ultra combines Orondis (oxathiapiprolin) and Revus® (mandipropamid) fungicides to provide preventive and residual control of downy mildews, late blight and other diseases. It exhibits systemic and translaminar movement to effectively protect both existing and new growth.

“Oxathiapiprolin is the only active ingredient in FRAC Group 49, so growers can incorporate Orondis Ultra into a season-long management program without concerns about cross-resistance to other products,” said Paul Kuhn, technical product lead, Syngenta.
