Syngenta receives registration for Orondis® fungicide for use in citrus

  • Now available for use in citrus crops
  • Preventive and residual oomycete disease control
  • Foundation fungicide in programs with other modes of action

GREENSBORO, N.C, USA - December 19, 2017– Syngenta has announced approval of Orondis® fungicide for use in citrus crops by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

“We are excited to introduce Orondis to citrus growers as a powerful tool to help combat Phytophthora root rot and brown rot,” said Bernd Druebbisch, fungicide product lead, Syngenta. “Trials show that Orondis also can significantly reduce propagule count, which protects the root system and can help increase root mass volume.”

Orondis (oxathiapiprolin) fungicide exhibits systemic and translaminar movement to protect both existing and new growth and offers a unique mode of action with no cross-resistance to currently used products.

“Oxathiapiprolin is the only active ingredient in FRAC Group 49, making it ideal for use in resistance management programs in alternation with Ridomil Gold® SL fungicide,” said Paul Kuhn, technical product lead, Syngenta.
